Edit and Delete Own Posts

Saturday, February 27th, 2010

There has been some request to revert twiducate back to when students could NOT edit and delete their posts in case of inappropriateness.

As such, it is now an option in the teacher ‘Profile’ section. Allowing your students to edit and delete their own posts is entirely up to you.

By default, students CAN edit and delete. If you don’t want them to, check the appropriate box in your profile.

Updates

Saturday, February 20th, 2010

Students can now delete and edit their own posts. Teachers can edit their own and delete ANY post, not just their own.

Also added the HTML component to the comments box.

Happy Saturday!

Timezone Settings Required

Saturday, February 20th, 2010

A timestamp has been added to all posts. As such, teachers must update their timezone settings in their profile section.

Students do not have to make any profile changes.

If this change is not made, the displayed timestamp on the posts will be our server time.

Sorry For Duplicate Emails

Tuesday, February 16th, 2010

If anyone on our mailing list received duplicate emails yesterday we are sorry. It was a holiday here in Canada and a slow start to the morning when this was put together.

Twiducate Milestone

Tuesday, February 16th, 2010

Post #10,000 will be sent this week. If I were a betting man, I’d say it happens on Tuesday. Is this a huge feat? I’m not entirely sure. We really didn’t see Twiducate doing anything beyond our area of teacher-friends but it has grown in the last month to multiple countries.

We now log close to 20,000 pageviews a week.

Anywho, there is the bell, back to class.

Fixed Cache / Refresh Error

Thursday, February 11th, 2010

If you noticed recently a cache systems error or just general slowness with the service, it was because the site was looking for new messages far to often. Think ping pong really really quickly.

This may have caused some errors on certain school systems.

Hopefully you’ll also notice an increase in speed throughout the site.

Suggest Feature / Report Bug

Sunday, February 7th, 2010

We are always looking for ways to improve twiducate (and to launch out of beta mode). If you have a suggestion, leave a comment below – we would love to hear it!

We would also appreciate anyone reporting bugs!!

Pin Posts Feature

Sunday, February 7th, 2010

Since all new posts go to the top of your network timeline, it seemed silly to post questions to students since they would have to search through the timeline to try and find this information.

We rolled out the “pin the post” feature a few weeks back and the feedback has been positive. Teachers can now pin posts to keep them at the top of the network timeline.

Public Timeline

Sunday, February 7th, 2010

There has been quite a bit of discussion as to what and how people are using twiducate in their classrooms. As such, we have added a “public timeline” that only teachers can view. Student accounts cannot access this section.

Hopefully we can collaborate, share ideas etc. in this new section.
